These are tumultuous times of potentially huge shift. Some are comparing them to the late 1960s. Many people are having many feelings. Among them is hopelessness. I believe we are only hopeless when we do not take action. Action looks different for everyone. I respect that. I also believe action will make you feel better while making the world better. So, I encourage everyone to:
1. Have conversations with the people around you, do not isolate and solely communicate through social media.
2. Whatever you are passionate about, whatever changes you want to see in our society find a way to phrase it as a suggestion and write your representative. http://contactingthecongress.org With this particular presidential election, it is a highly political year. Lets engage!
3. Get involved with local chapters of organizations working for a just society. There are beautiful organizers tirelessly working, you can contribute to movement.
4. Remember self-care! Remember to enjoy the company of people you love. Remember to breathe, to dance, to create.
