Greetings fans, friends & fam…
Welcome to my new website! Yes, the name has changed, but I assure you that I am still the same sensitive yet brash New York Jewess residing in the golden state.
So far 2013 has been a huge year for me! I completed an MFA in acting and music from CIIS in San Francisco; took my solo show HOMELESS IN HOMELAND to the UK thanks to my amazing producer E Amato and received great reviews; sang in Austria with Dubblestandart for the release of the WOMAN IN DUB project and then went on the subsequent east and west coast tours promoting the album.
On the East Coast we had the honor of opening and singing back up for the Dub Organizer Mr Lee “Scratch” Perry (one of Reggae’s OGs to say the least) and rocked venues like The Howard Theater in DC, The Trocadero in Philly and (Le) Poission Rouge in NYC. It was such good medicine for me to be back home performing in New York. On the West Coast we had the pleasure of partnering with Afro Funke’, La Gente, Earth Amplified, Aima the Dreamer and Kush Arora… and in the midst of all that, I moved back to Los Angeles!
Yes, I’m back in Los Angeles….. I plan to be digging into both the music and acting sceen in LA while I continue to build nationally and internationally. I’m down to build, so musicians and filmmakers out there, challah at your girl!
I feel blessed to have had the wonderful opportunities thus far this year and am grateful for the continued support coming from many different places.
Stay tuned as I plan to be doing more shows featuring full sets of my tunes, releasing some new recordings and flexing my acting muscles. In the meantime, keep your heads up and your eyes open during these strange times of government shut down, civil war in Syria and continued debates on social services, civil liberties, domestic surveillance, government budgets etc etc. Artists, lets keep on gathering and sharing ideas, we all need it.
